Responsible Jewelery Council
The RJC is a non-profit standards and certification organization founded in 2005 to promote responsible ethical, human rights, social and environmental practices throughout the gold, silver, platinum group metals, diamonds and colored gemstone jewelry supply chain.
fejn jewelry is committed to adhering to sustainable and responsible business practices, which can be found in our policy here. By implementing the guideline, we support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Recycled precious metals
All fejn jewelry is made from high-quality precious metals that come from 100% recycled sources:
Our silver jewelry is made from recycled 925 sterling silver. They either remain material-proof or are covered with 18-carat gold plating. Here, too, we have achieved a recycling share of 100% since 2023. All silver jewelry is stamped with the fineness '925' and 'fj'.
Our solid gold jewelry is made from 100% recycled 14-karat gold. All gold jewelry is stamped with the fineness '585' and 'fj'.
We ensure this promise by regularly auditing our supply chain and requiring our production partners to declare and prove the recycled content of the metals used in our jewelry.
Environmentally friendly packaging
All fejn packaging is made from environmentally friendly materials.
From jewelry boxes to shipping boxes: jewelry boxes are made in Denmark from FSC-certified cardboard. The foam inlays contain a small amount of plastic, which can be recycled. Jewelry bags are also made in Denmark from organic cotton. Shipping material is sourced in Germany, it is completely plastic-free and made from recycled cardboard.
We also reduce waste by offering a zero-waste option for jewelry packaging and reusing returned shipping boxes as much as possible.
Environmental & climate protection
fejn jewelry strives for climate neutrality wherever possible. All shipments are compensated by our logistics partners and are therefore delivered in a climate-neutral manner.
We also make a contribution to preserving and protecting our climate: For every order in our online shop, we donate €1 to PLANT-MY-TREE® to support a German reforestation project.
In our business premises we use electricity from 100% renewable energy sources and use environmentally friendly office materials.
Responsible manufacturing
fejn jewelry works with selected local manufacturers in Thailand, a country known for its long tradition of making silver jewelry.
Using the documents and information we require from all production partners, we can ensure that they treat their employees and the environment responsibly and fairly. The business practices of our partners are also certified and we also check this through regular visits from our founder Dagmar Kraemer
We have set up our own ESG policy for the first time in 2023, which shows our efforts in the areas of environmental, social and corporate governance.
