The RJC is a not-for-profit standard-setting and certification organisation founded in 2005 to promote responsible ethical, human rights, social and environmental practices throughout the supply chain for gold, silver, platinum group metals, diamonds and colored gemstone jewelry.

fejn jewelry is committed to sustainable and responsible business practices, which can be found in our policy here. By implementing the directive, we support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Recycled precious metals

All fejn jewelry is made from high quality precious metals, more than 99% of which come from recycled sources:

99% of the 925 sterling silver used in our jewelry is fully recycled. Currently, we only use a "regular" silver wire for our birthstone and gemstone jewelry, which comes from a certified but mined source. We intend to change this for the future. The 18 to 24 karat gold plating of our silver jewelry has a recycled content of about 60%. We would like to continuously increase this as well. All silver jewelry is stamped with the fineness '925' and 'fj'.

Our Solid Gold jewelry is made from 100% recycled 14 karat gold. All gold jewelry is stamped with the fineness '585' and 'fj'.

We ensure this promise by regularly conducting thorough audits of our supply chain and requiring our manufacturing partners to declare and provide evidence of the recycled content of the metals used in our jewelry.

Eco-friendly packaging

All fejn packaging is made from environmentally friendly materials.

From the jewelry boxes to the shipping boxes: Jewelry boxes are made in Denmark from FSC certified cardboard. The foam inlays have a small amount of plastic, this can be recycled. Jewelry bags are also made in Denmark from organic cotton. Shipping material is sourced in Germany, is completely plastic free and is made from recycled cardboard.

We also reduce waste by offering a zero-waste option for jewelry packaging and reusing returned shipping cartons as much as possible.

Environment & climate protection

fejn jewelry strives for climate neutrality wherever possible. All shipments are compensated by our logistics partners and thus delivered climate neutral.

In addition, we contribute to the preservation and protection of our climate: For every order in our online store, we donate 1 € to PLANT-MY-TREE® to support a German reforestation project.

In our office we use electricity from 100% renewable energy sources and use environmentally friendly office materials.

Responsible manufacturing

fejn jewelry works with selected local manufactures in Thailand, a country known for its long tradition of silver craftsmanship.

Documents and information that we require from all production partners enable us to ensure that they treat their employees and the environment responsibly and fair. The business practices of our partners are also certified and we furthermore verify this by regular visits of our founder Dagmar Kraemer
