For us, jewelry should not only be timelssly beautiful and high quality. Material selection, sourcing channels, and manufacturing also play an important role. That is precisely why we at fejn combine minimalist design with our commitment to a responsible approach to materials and supply chains.

When we speak of sustainable jewelry, we mean jewelry made from responsibly selected materials whose suppliers and sourcing channels we audit using a risk-based approach. Among other materials, we use recycled precious metals and lab-grown gemstones, and we place strict requirements on human rights and fair working conditions with our direct production partners.

How to recognize responsibly operating jewelry labels

When it comes to sustainability claims, it pays to look a little closer: What materials are being used? Where do they come from? How are suppliers and production partners audited? And what information does a company provide about these processes?

fejn has been certified according to the Responsible Jewellery Council Code of Practices (RJC CoP) since 2022. Among other aspects, the standard includes requirements for human rights, working conditions, responsible supply chains, and environmental management.

Filigree jewelry: minimalist design meets conscious material selection

No matter which fejn piece you choose: Our designs are clean, delicate, and versatile to style. For our jewelry, we use recycled silver and gold, as well as lab-grown diamonds and gemstones, among other materials.

How about our solid gold Diamond Huggie, for example? It combines minimalist design with recycled 14K solid gold and sparkling details. More of a silver fan? Our delicate Ornament Necklace is crafted from recycled silver and offers endless styling possibilities.

And because good jewelry isn't a matter of gender to us, you'll naturally find a selection of unisex pieces at fejn as well.

Bracelets made from recycled precious metals

When it comes to our bracelets, we also rely on recycled precious metals and selected production partners. Whether it's a delicate bracelet or a more statement piece: Our designs can be worn individually or layered together.

Through selected collaborations, we also support projects that are important to us. The specific impact associated with a product is clearly indicated directly on the respective piece of jewelry.

Responsible jewelry manufacturing in Thailand

For us, responsible production doesn't depend on whether a piece of jewelry is crafted in Germany or abroad. We work in long-term partnerships with selected manufactures in Thailand—a country with a rich tradition in jewelry and silver craftsmanship.

We regularly audit our direct production partners as part of our risk-based due diligence processes. In doing so, we evaluate requirements regarding human rights, working conditions, and responsible business practices, among other criteria. To achieve this, we review information and documentation provided by our production partners and conduct regular on-site visits in person.

When it comes to our packaging, we also rely on consciously selected materials. For shipping, we use plastic-free packaging made from recycled cardboard. Our jewelry boxes are made from FSC-certified cardboard, and our jewelry pouches are made from organic cotton.
